Bangers and Mash with Bisto Gravy

Bangers and Mash, the perfect British Sausages (Bangers) and Mashed Potatoes with a delicious well know and well used British beef gravy product called Bisto

This, for me, is a home from home dinner. Comfort food at its best

To make your Bangers and Mash

You will need

1 pk of 6 British Beef Sausages
2 Large Onions
Bisto Gravy Granules (Made according to packet) (or any other gravy you prefer if you cant find Bisto)

for the mash
Bag of Potatoes
2 tbsp Butter
Salt to taste
Splash of Milk or cream

  • Take your sausages and grill them (broil for my USA readers) on high heat, turning occasionally until evenly cooked and browned

Grill the sausages

  • Meanwhile make your Mash. Peel and chop potatoes into chunks and place in pot with water and salt, bring to boil then turn down to a rolling simmer until potatoes are tender and soft. Drain the water, add some butter, salt and milk/cream and mash until smooth and fluffy

  • Place the cooked sausages in a large saucepan

  • Make the Beef Bisto Gravy, according to package and add to the sausages
  • Cut onions in half or quarters depending on size (you want the onions in big chunks) and add to the sausages and gravy

  • Simmer until onions are soft 
  • Serve the Bangers and Mash on a warm plate
